CentralCatholichHS.com now uses the latest technology in content management software
Montgomery, Ala. – Square Root Interactive, a full-service Web design and development agency and Ektron ELITE Partner, announces the launch of Central Catholic High School’s new Web site, www.centralcatholichs.com. The custom Web site solution includes a new site design and the latest Web site features and functionality. Powered by Ektron’s CMS400.NET Web content management system, the Web site can easily be maintained by Central Catholic High School staff.
The Pittsburgh-based high school contracted with Square Root Interactive earlier this year to create a Web site solution that allowed current and prospective students and parents to experience Central Catholic in a user-friendly, on-line environment. The school envisioned turning the Web site into its primary communication and marketing tool, eventually hoping to phase out the many letters and other mailings it currently relies on to relay information to its target audiences.
Square Root Interactive worked with Central Catholic to develop a design that was modern, yet reflected the 82-year-old school’s roots in tradition. The site navigation is easy to use, and many items – such as important announcements, news, events and the latest sports scores – are available on the home page. Other items – including the daily bulletin, calendar and store – are highlighted visually and can be easily accessed from the home page. Advanced Web site features include rotating homepage photos, a photo gallery and a video gallery, all of which can be maintained by staff at Central Catholic.
“I think that the design is fantastic,” said Vernon Young Jr., Central Catholic High School technology coordinator. “Square Root Interactive took the wide range of ideas and examples I provided and created something unique to Central that really pops.”
Thanks to Ektron’s CMS400.NET Web content management system, non-technical staff at Central Catholic can easily update the Web site content. The newest feature of the CMS400.NET, PageBuilder, makes updating content even easier with “widgets” that content editors can drag and drop onto Web pages. The new technology allows users to edit most elements on the Web page, from the billboard and side bar promos to the main content area, truly a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) experience.
