Virtually Real Holidays
Category: Shannon Masterson

It’s the holiday season, and nothing makes me happier than remembering those December traditions that shaped my childhood.  The first snowfall, decorating warm cookies for friends and family, and our robust crackling fire on Christmas Day.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and when combined with the power of technology, new traditions both real and virtual can be created.  In fact, there’s a virtual site for nearly every holiday tradition, from virtual snowfall to virtual snowflakes. Cookies and trees just begging to be decorated, and dreidels, menorahs, and advent calendars designed to help everyone everywhere observe and celebrate the season.

Santa’s even gotten into the act, too, and will personally deliver a stern or congratulatory message to anyone on your nice or naughty list.

And finally there’s the fire. While not as warm as the real thing, the crackle is unmistakably “holiday”.

Regardless of how you find yourself spending this holiday season, we here at Square Root Interactive hope that it is above-all-else safe and joyous!
