Lunch and Learn with the Montgomery Chamber
Category: Susan Cline
I had the wonderful privilege of speaking at the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce's April Lunch and Learn today. It was a special experience for me not only because I was able to speak to an eager group of business owners about something I am passionate about but because for two years the Chamber was once my home away from home. So a big thank you to Lisa McGinty and Douglas Jones for asking me to speak.
I also wanted to take a moment and thank all those folks who joined me for lunch as I discussed why, when it comes to Web sites, one size doesn't fit all. We answered this question by addressing three key areas: design, usability and interaction.
The principal behind this discussion is simple - every business is different. Because of this, marketing and branding efforts should "fit" a business' specific goals. And since a Web site should always be an extension of those marketing efforts why shouldn't the Web site be tailored to fit too. Unfortunately, many small businesses overlook their online presence, but hopefully this discussion changed people's views.
For those who could not attend or take notes fast enough, I am including a PDF version of my presentation. Enjoy and if you have any questions of comments, I would really like to hear from you.
