Life at Square Root Interactive
I joined the interactive agency in June 2006 and was promoted to account services director in 2011. My job is to lead and guide the account services team. In this, my biggest focus is helping to ensure client satisfaction — it's about building good, lasting relationships. As account services director, I'm also responsible for developing strategies to foster and respond to business development opportunities among existing clients.
In addition to serving as a department head, I continue to serve as account executive for key client accounts. In this role, I serve as an advocate for clients, helping them articulate their website goals and representing them to the rest of the SRI team. I also guide clients through each phase of website projects — from planning to implementation — and am the "Go-To" for all of their "How-To" questions when it comes to managing their new websites. I'm also tasked with creating various types of Square Root documentation for each project, as well as client training.
Life Before Square Root Interactive
Prior to joining the agency, I served as publications and public relations specialist for the Montgomery-based Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) for more than six years. At AlaHA, I was responsible for the association's member newsletter, a media tip sheet and other publications. I also maintained the organization's website (using the Ektron content management system software provided through Square Root) and served as the staff IT liaison.
Life Beyond Square Root Interactive
I'm intrigued by the Internet and web design, so working in the interactive industry comes naturally for me. And my how I've come to depend on today's advancing technologies and social media. I'm not sure what I'd do without my smart phone or Facebook! I'm also into digital photography and outdoor adventures. I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart and mom to a little girl that is growing up way too fast.
Professional Development
I've been involved with the Public Relations Council of Alabama, AAF-Montgomery and the Alabama Coucil of Association Executives. I served as the 2006-2007 president of the PRCA's Montgomery chapter. I've taken numerous personal and professional development courses through Auburn Montgomery's department of continuing educations, including web design, photography and search engine optimization.
Education
I graduated cum laude from Troy State University in Troy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in print journalism and a minor in creative writing.
